Strings Across the Sky; Andrea Hansen, musical director and co-founder
Since 1988, Strings Across the Sky has taught fiddling in Northern Canada to Aboriginal, Métis and Inuit youth. After only a few days of lessons, students perform in public gaining a new sense of accomplishment and self-esteem. This is Andrea Hansen's 5th performance at the Festival of the Sound with students from the Parry Sound area and guest students from remote Northern locales. Since many are beginners performing before an audience for the first time what happens on stage is pure magic.
