This suite was written at St. Paul’s Girl’s School Hammersmith, where John York is currently Senior Music Head of Department and where he found, lurking in a cupboard in his office, the long-forgotten piano duet score signed by Holst. Parry Sound children’s paintings of the planets are projected throughout the performance.
